# What is slippage and how to manage it?

Slippage is your personal price tolerance during a transaction.
If the price moves beyond your selected tolerance after waiting more than 20 seconds on the purchase screen, the transaction cancels automatically.

Slippage is configurable directly from your profile.
By default, it's set at 5% to ensure your protection.
