# How do talent introductions work?

**How does it work?**
Launching a new athlete token happens in two phases.

**Phase 1 — Intro** When a new athlete is introduced, it starts at a fixed price during the intro phase. This gives everyone a fair chance to buy in at the same price.
The market phase begins as soon as one of these two conditions is met:
* The intro is **sold out**, or
* A maximum period of **1 week **has passed
Once the market opens, the price moves freely based on supply and demand between buyers and sellers on the platform.

**Phase 2 — Open Market** Once the intro phase is complete, the open market starts. The price follows a linear formula driven purely by trading activity:
* The more people **buy**, the higher the price goes
* The more people **sell**, the lower the price goes
Anyone can buy or sell at any time, and the price adjusts in real time with every transaction.
